The Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association announced the election of a new board of directors for 2011.

John Kochis, general manager of Bridlewood Estate Winery, is the group’s new president, and Thomas O’Higgins, owner of Wine Country Home, was named vice president.

Other elected officers are treasurer Sherry Thore, owner of Sherry Thore CPA; secretary Dorothy Brunton, co-owner of Tastes of the Valleys Wine Bar; and immediate past president Douglas Ziegler, owner of Santa Ynez Inn.

New board members are Sandra Hallmann, general manager of Wine Valley Inn & Cottages; Carlos Lopez-Hollis, owner of Dos Carlitos Restaurant & Tequila Bar; and Chris Bashforth, executive director of Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum.

With more than 120 members, the Visitors Association promotes tourism in Ballard, Buellton, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, and Solvang.
