Get a tour of local greenhouses and nurseries as part of the Central Coast Greenhouse Growers Association’s 11th annual open house on April 14. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., association members throughout Nipomo and Arroyo Grande will open their doors to the public to raise money for a scholarship fund.
Many growers will offer tours of their facilities, in addition to local plant and flower sales. This is an opportunity for the public to visit growers and learn firsthand how to care for local flora and fauna.
Each participating nursery donates a portion of that day’s sales to the association scholarship fund, which is available to horticulture students and the children of association members.
The association’s education center at Edwards Barn in Nipomo will be host to a variety of activities, including Nipomo 4-H breakfast-to-go, a barbecue lunch, local high school FFA plant sales, raffles, and more.
