An F/A-18 Super Hornet jet taxied at Santa Maria Public Airport on Aug. 27, in preparation for the weekend’s 21st annual ā€œThunder Over the Valleyā€ air show, put on by the Santa Maria Museum of Flight. Though few aircraft took to the skies due to safety restrictions, about 8,500 people attended the two-day event, viewing World War II-era warbirds, a C-130 cargo plane, and ā€œSeahawkā€ Naval helicopters.
