The Fund for Santa Barbara’s Youth Making Change Program is taking teenage applicants to serve on the 2013-2014 boards.
Youth Making Change is a teen-led grant-making program that gives youth the opportunity to engage in philanthropy. Each board, one in Santa Maria and one in Santa Barbara, gives out $15,000 in grants to projects led by youth that impact teens in Santa Barbara County.
Board membership runs from July 2013 to May 2014. Members meet twice a month during the school year to plan and carry out a grant cycle. They will get the chance to learn about current issues facing youth in the county and share their own perspectives and opinions.
Applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 19 as of July 21, 2013, and living in or going to school in Santa Barbara County.
Applications are due by Friday, May 31, and can be downloaded from fundforsantabarbara.org/youth.php or picked up at the fund office in Santa Maria, 120 E. Jones St, suite 127.
