The Ethel Pope Auditorium stage will fill with fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students on April 18 and 19, when they perform the musical version of Alice in Wonderland.

Students from Taylor Elementary School have rehearsed the play since fall. What’s different about this particular elementary school production is its length, said Nedina Asencio, Taylor fourth-grade teacher and the play’s director, in a press release.

ā€œElementary schools typically don’t perform full plays,ā€ Asencio said in the release. ā€œBut the excitement of the students and the number of children who wanted to participate let us know that they were really committing to creating a fun, inspiring musical.ā€

The auditorium is located on the Santa Maria High School campus. The show begins at 7 p.m. on both nights; tickets are $7 at the door or presold for $5 at Taylor Elementary, 1921 Carlotti Drive in Santa Maria.
