Don’t want to pay a lot to stock your shelves? The Pantry, a new discount grocer, is opening its doors in Nipomo on June 4.

Harkening back to the days when the local grocer knew customers and responded to requests for products, the Pantry pledges to provide food for the modern low-cost lifestyle with an old-fashioned attitude and clean atmosphere.

The Pantry buys ā€œbanana boxā€ groceries, value-priced private label products, overstock and liquidation items, bulk foods, local produce, and more in order to offer wholesome foods at prices below those of the least-expensive chain stores. It also sells dairy products, bakery items, and brand-name health and beauty supplies.

The Pantry is located at 551 W. Tefft St. in Nipomo’s Miners Shopping Center. Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
