A press release from the school said that Advent started on Nov. 30, the fourth Sunday before Dec. 25, and represents the time spent waiting for the Messiah.

“It was a wonderful atmosphere of celebration with lots of laughter and smiles,” Ellen Muldoon, a fourth-grade teacher at the school, said in a press release. “When the children and their families came in, they went straight to the decorations and began adding them to wreaths.”
