The annual Santa Maria High School FFA booster benefit dinner will be held on Sept. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, 666 S. College Drive, in Santa Maria.

Tickets cost $100 each—you can split them with friends—and include two barbecue dinners and the opportunity to win door prizes worth $100 to $5,000.

Proceeds from the event will help send the school’s future farmers to the national convention, as well as the state conference and numerous judging contests throughout the state.

ā€œThe SMHS FFA program helps develop students into productive citizens through their leadership program, community involvement, and hands-on learning projects,ā€ said Shelley Klein, a Santa Maria High School math teacher and FFA sponsor. ā€œWith all the cuts to education, we need these extra funds even more, so that our students can attend leadership conferences and be able to improve their skills through their judging competitions.ā€

For more information, contact Klein at 925-2567, Ext. 3358.
