Starting in October, members of the public will be able to visit the Dana Adobe in Nipomo on Sunday afternoons to see the ranch’s restoration in progress. Because the adobe has become a major construction site, many end-of-the-year events have been postponed. The public last had access to a tour of the adobe before the Dave Stamey Concert in July.

According to a press release from the Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos, the Board of Directors decided to share the progress with the public even though “we don’t look our best right now” because the adobe is an integral part of the community’s identity.

Families can tour the newly restored areas of the Dana Adobe including the west veranda, captain’s store, and little girls’ room, and see the deconstructed milk room and parlor.

DANA board members and docents will host tours from 1 to 4 p.m. They will also talk about the Dana Adobe Living Historic Park Master Plan, which proposes the construction of a nature education center, a Chumash village, and a series of interpretive trails.
