Another inmate from the federal prison in Lompoc has allegedly escaped, according to Katina Heckard, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.Ā
Hector Medina was discovered missing on Nov. 26 during a routine inmate count at the minimum security satellite prison camp in Lompoc, Heckard said.Ā
Medina is the second inmate to go missing from the prison in three months. In September, 27-year-old Vicente Ramirez was also discovered missing from the same prison facility as Medina.
According to Heckard, Ramirez is still on escape status. Ramirez was serving a 180-month sentence for weapons and drug charges.Ā
Medina was serving time for conspiracy to distribute and to import methamphetamine, as well as a drug possession charge. Medina is a Hispanic male and is originally from Alhambra, Calif.Ā
Prison officials urge the public to immediately call local law enforcement if Medina and Ramirez are seen.
