The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is offering summer day camps in eight one-week sessions held from June 16 through August 8 for 6- to 12-year-olds.

Each week will include activities designed to encourage physical activity, creativity, self-confidence, cooperation, problem solving, responsibility, and fun.

Those day camps will be held at the Minami Community Center, 600 W. Enos Drive. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the program will be held at the Paul Nelson Aquatics Center/Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center, 600 S. McClelland St. because campers will be swimming in the afternoon.

The day camp fee is $75 per weekly session per participant and is based on a full-time schedule. Interested participants must register at the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department administrative offices at 615 S. McClelland St.
