The Santa Ynez Valley Foundation is accepting nominations for its 2016 Youth in Service awards along with its 2016 Man and Women of the Year awards.Ā 

The Youth in Service award is a recognition program created to applaud young people who are making a difference through volunteer community service in the Santa Ynez Valley and/or Los Alamos. The winner is awarded a scholarship to further his or her education or training.Ā 

Nominees must be in the ninth through 12th grades and have been engaged in volunteer work in 2015, according to the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation.

The Man and Woman of the Year award honors two outstanding lifelong volunteers. Special recognition may also be given to additional volunteers whose efforts significantly impact programs in areas like health and human services, senior citizens, youth, education, and cultural activities.Ā 

Nominations must be received by the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation by Jan. 15, 2016. Nomination forms can be found at syvalleyfoundation.org.Ā
