Tourism is great for the local economy, but it can get expensive for the people doing the touring. To help out, the Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association (SYVVA) has announced a first-ever 10 percent savings offer for mid-week summer visitors.

“Gas prices and the economy can take a toll on vacation budgets,” SYVVA president Mike Hendrick, general manager of the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott Hotel, said in a news release. “The Santa Ynez Valley is a great place to stay and play, only a tank away from L.A.—and we’re offering some easy-to-get savings on lodging, shopping, golf, and wine tasting here.”

To get a copy of the “Santa Ynez Valley Savings Certificate,” go to www.santaynezvalleyvisit.com and click on the icon to view and print the savings.

“Visitors can print out as many savings certificates as they like and use them as many times as they want,ā€ SYVVA Executive Director Mary Harris said in a release.

The 10 percent discounts can be used at the following merchants Monday through Thursday, June 18 through Sept. 25: Ballard Inn and Restaurant, First Street Leather, Foley Estates Vineyard & Winery tasting room, Hadsten House Inn & Spa, PCPA Theaterfest at Solvang Festival Theater, Rancho San Marcos Golf Course, Santa Ynez Inn, Santa Ynez Valley Marriott, and Solvang Antique Center.
