The Santa Maria Police Department is investigating a shooting in the city that left one person injured in the early morning hours of Oct. 24.Ā 

According to SMPD Sgt. Woody Vega, police were notified around 2:26 a.m. of a 29-year-old man who was admitted to Marian Regional Medical Center with a single gunshot wound to the leg. The injury was non-life threatening, Vega said.Ā 

An investigation by the SMPD revealed that the shooting may have occurred in the 2200 block of South Bradley, near the Pacific Christian Center church on the corner of Bradley and College roads.Ā 

Detectives are investigating the shooting, although Vega says the SMPD doesn’t have much to go on at this point.Ā 

The SMPD encourages anyone with information regarding to the incident to call the police station at 928-3781, Ext. 2277.Ā
