Working parents have a new place to send their children after school: the Minami Community Center.

Ā

Developed by the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, the Minami After School Time program is open to children ages 6 to 12 and runs 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. during regular Santa Maria Bonita school days and noon to 5:30 p.m. on minimum school days.

Ā

Children will have time to complete homework, create arts and craft projects, play games, and participate in other
activities, according to a press release from the city.

Ā

There’s no cost to register, but children must register by turning in a completed permission slip before their second day at the program. Children can be dropped off at the Minami Center or meet the program staffers at designated sites near Adam and Sanchez elementary schools, after which they will be walked to the program site.

Ā

The Minami Community Center is located at 600 W. Enos Drive.
