Silas Kanady, the Army veteran featured in the Sun’s Oct. 20 cover story, has been accused of committing a home invasion robbery in rural Arroyo Grande this August.

According to the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department, Kanady is charged with pistol whipping a victim and leaving two victims bound inside a residence. Cumulative charges include kidnap to commit robbery, first-degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, dissuading a victim, and false imprisonment.

He is currently in custody at the Santa Barbara County Jail in Goleta facing charges stemming from a similar case in the Santa Maria area.
