On Dec. 14, police said they arrested a Santa Maria man in connection to a stabbing in Camarillo.

According to Camarillo Police Department Deputy Mario Molina, police responded to a call of a stabbing victim in the area of Las Posas Road and Daily Drive. Deputies from Ventura County Sheriff’s Office found a man who was stabbed in the back and neck areas and was taken to a hospital.

Molina said the stabbing occurred in a vehicle heading north on Highway 101. The victim was then dropped off in Camarillo.

Santa Maria resident Bobby Arellano, 32, was identified as a suspect and was arrested later that night in Lompoc after police served a search warrant on a home.

Neither the victim nor Arellano have ties to Ventura County, Molina said.

Arellano was booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of attempted murder. His bail amount is set at $1.1 million. According to online records, Arellano’s last court appearance was scheduled for Dec. 30 at the Ventura County Superior Court.
