As with other holiday traditions, there will be no trash or recycling collection service or street sweeping in Santa Maria on Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, the city announced. The Santa Maria Regional Landfill will also be closed for the holiday.
For the holiday schedule only, city residential and commercial customers will receive service one day later than their normal pick up. Monday through Wednesday customers will see no change in service. Thursday customers will get service on Jan. 2, and Friday customers will get service on Jan. 3.
Trash and recycling containers should be set out by 6:30 a.m.
