Santa Maria High School students took pride in showing off their school to incoming students with the “March of the Saints,” on Friday morning. More than 1,000 students participated in the rally that featured 30 student booths, numerous athletic demonstrations, and alumni from colleges and universities around the country.

The long-standing tradition gives current students a chance to show freshman all that their school has to offer, according to principal Joe Domingues.
During the event, teachers and their classes marched to the football field where students were able to explore booths and discover what interests them. Later, they returned to class for candid discussions.
“It’s a great opportunity for students to talk to former and successful Saint alumni. It makes our students feel that they can do great things just like them and deepens the Saint culture of involvement and pride,” Domingues said in a statement.
