Santa Maria city officials have applied to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for increased federal funding, according to a press release from the city.

The city recently submitted a revised final annual action plan for Fiscal Year 2009-10 under the Community Development Block Grant Program.

According to the report, the city expects to receive almost $1.3 million in Community Development Block Grant funds and $30,000 in program income under its revolving loan fund programs throughout fiscal year 2009-10.

That money will go toward the city’s nonprofit and public facilities improvement program, a residential rehabilitation loan program, and a handful of public service programs.
