The music never stops for some people. More than two dozen alumni musicians proved it when they marched to the field and into the stands with the Santa Maria High School Saints Band during the school’s last home football game on Friday night, Oct. 30.

Prior to the game, the student musicians and alumni shared a short rehearsal and enjoyed some pizza inside the new band room. They performed together for the first half of the game.

ā€œI think it’s important to invite our Saints Band alumni back because, although things like facilities, directors, and musical tastes change, we’re all still Saints,ā€ said band Director Aaron Thomas. ā€œIt’s great for the younger generation to see that pride coming from former band members who may have graduated only a year or two ago, or maybe 20 or 30 years ago. Once a Saint, always a Saint.ā€

Alumni, who played their own instruments, wore wear red shirts, sweatshirts, or jackets.Ā
