Steve Molina, the principal of Ernest Righetti High School, has accepted a position to oversee $5 million in state funding for the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District.
That funding comes through Californiaās new accounting system for state money allocated to local schools known as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCCF). Molina will become the districtās LCCF task force coordinator.
The position includes supervising and implementing the Local Control Accountability Plan, guidance services, student services, and federal programs. Heāll also get to take part in the districtās effort to revamp the English Learning Program, as well as work on providing new technology to students and staff.
Ā Molina has been Righettiās principal since July 2007. Karen Rotondi will serve as the schoolās interim principal. Sheās been the schoolās assistant principal for the last five years.
