The Santa Barbara County Chapter of the American Red Cross recognized the generosity of 11 businesses and foundations that have lent financial assistance to its efforts in responding to the Jesusita Fire.
In addition to a $40,000 grant from the Santa Barbara Foundation, the chapter received $10,000 gifts from Blue Cross/BlueShield, the Hutton Foundation, Sempra Energy Foundation, Verizon, and Wells Fargo.
FLIR, Wal-Mart in Santa Maria and Lompoc, and Bank of America each donated $5,000. Best Buy contributed $2,000.
Ā Last year, the American Red Cross, Santa Barbara County Chapter provided services to 30,000 people in the county and distributed disaster preparedness and safety materials to nearly 14,000 school children, seniors, and community members.
