Santa Maria rancher Peter Adam had a successful fundraising period over the last few months in his campaign for 4th district supervisor.
According to reports filed with Santa Barbara County for dates between Jan. 1 and March 17, Adam raised $29,850 in campaign contributions, for a total of $52,649 to date. These contributions came mainly from individuals and organizations with ties to the agriculture industry.

Incumbent Joni Gray raised $18,791, for a total of $50,791. However, approximately $32,000 of that funding came from Gray’s own pocket. Her largest contributions came from Santa Ynez resident Kenneth Hunter III and the Santa Ynez Band of Mission Indians, in the amount of $3,000 each. Gray’s documents also showed a balance of nearly $4,000 in unpaid bills.

Former Lompoc mayor Joyce Howerton’s totals were significantly lower, at approximately $2,100 to date.

ā€œI’m very pleased at the latest financial reports. They show a growing groundswell of support for my campaign to restore fiscal sanity to our county and get back to basics,ā€ Adam said in a prepared statement.

Voters will go to the polls on June 5 to elect a 4th district supervisor.
