The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Committee to Improve North County invite business leaders to help start the economic recovery at the 2010 Economic and Business Outlook Conference on Nov. 17.

The conference will feature speakers covering all aspects of local and statewide economies. Chief of the Economic Development Division of the Small Business Administration, Natalie Orta, will present an overview of small business loan opportunities and instructions on how to make a successful loan application. Mark Schniepp, principal of the California Economic Forecast, will also present the 2010 Economic Forecast for the state and the area.

The admission fee of $35 includes a seat at the conference, a continental breakfast, economic and business information packets, and a one-year subscription to the California Economic Forecast monthly newsletter.

Co-sponsored by the U.C. Santa Barbara School of Engineering, the event takes place from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Wagering Center of the Santa Maria Fairpark, 937 S. Thornburg.
