A truck full of pumpkins dropped its load on the lawn outside of Mary Buren Elementary School in Guadalupe during the second full week of October.

For years, Frank Almaguer and his family have surprised Guadalupe’s elementary students with about 1,000 pumpkins.

The students, who choose their own pumpkin from the patch, decorate them with their favorite storybook characters.

Almaguer was born and raised in Guadalupe.

ā€œThis was my school, and I live in Guadalupe,ā€ Almaguer said in a press release. ā€œI want to make sure the kids get their pumpkin.ā€

School Principal Jesely Alvarez said in the release that the family’s generosity is unmatched.

ā€œThey are the epitome of what it means to give back,ā€ Alvarez said.
