• Santa Barbara County residents now have an archive of legislative and political information at their fingertips. On June 30, county officials launched a new online legislative research center—santabarbara.legistar.com—making it easier for elected officials and members of the public and press to view the agendas and minutes of the county’s boards, committees, and other government bodies. The new site also offers a video index of specific agenda items. According to a news release from the makers of legistar.com, the site will produce labor savings for the county because fewer requests for information need to be processed manually.
• Find out what you can do to improve Northern Santa Barbara County at the Committee to Improve North County’s monthly luncheon on July 15 at the Santa Maria Inn, 801 S. Broadway, in Santa Maria.
