The State Assembly has unanimously passed a bill authored by Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee (R-San Luis Obispo) that will ā€œmake California more competitive in attracting and retaining green tech manufacturing jobs,ā€ the Assemblyman’s office announced in a press release on March 22. The bill, SB 71, gives the state treasurer the authority to provide tax incentives to projects that produce component parts of renewable energy and alternative transportation products. ā€œLayer after layer of bad tax and regulatory policies have made California a job killing machine,ā€ Blakeslee said in the release. ā€œThe bipartisan support for this bill shows that Republicans and Democrats can find ways to get California working again.ā€
