Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee (R-San Luis Obispo) recently released the latest episode in his Treasures of the Central Coast television series. The 30-minute shows give an inside look at some of the area’s most celebrated landmarks, historical sites, institutions, and industries. In the March episode, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes tour of Allan Hancock College’s Santa Maria campus, which will reveal the college’s admissions process, financial aid opportunities, and academic programs. Throughout 2009, Treasures of the Central Coast will also showcase Cuesta College, Cal Poly State University, renewable energy on the Central Coast, and local state parks. Previous episodes have put the spotlight on the Morro Bay National Estuary and the winemaking process, from grapes to glass. Treasures of the Central Coast airs on Local Cable Access channel 23, Mondays at 8 p.m., Wednesdays at 6 p.m., and Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. It’s also available on demand to Comcast subscribers.
