Parents searching for an all-inclusive extracurricular activity guide for their kids, look no further: Kidzmet.comāa new website archiving local activities and eventsārecently launched in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
Kidzmet.com gives busy parents the ability to search and compare classes by several categories, including driving distance, age, interest, day, time, rating, and price per class.
āI knew there was a wealth of great local kidsā activities out there that I didnāt know existed,ā Kidzmet Founder Jen Lilienstein said in a press release, ābut even I was surprised by just how many there were.ā
The site also offers advice and ideas for selecting classes, including a personality quiz that helps parents identify new activities for their kids they hadnāt previously considered. After attending a class or activity, member parents are encouraged to rate programs on age appropriateness, curriculum, and teacher to provide other parents with more in-depth reviews.
Other features on the website include: one-click emails to local enrichment providers, carpool scheduling, and a calendar, as well as social networking capabilities. According to the press release, some providers even allow online enrollments through the site.
As an added incentive for local parents who try the new service, Kidzmet.com will randomly draw the names of five Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo parents from their member database on May 1. Thereās a limit of one entry per family. Multiple family entries will be disqualified. The winners will get $50 Target gift cards, and if they have 10 families in their Kidzmet social networks at that time, theyāll receive an additional $50 gas card.
