Lucia Mar plans workshop to help ease layoff pains

To help teachers and other staff members facing layoffs, officials at Lucia Mar Unified School District are planning to hold a ā€œTransition Workshopā€ on April 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the district offices, 602-G Orchard St., in Arroyo Grande.

At the workshop, the district’s human resources department, headed by assistant superintendent Michelle Ellis, will give a presentation on insurance, benefit options, and more. Employees will also have access to resources from the employment development department, social services, the Shoreline Employment Resource Center, and elsewhere.

Employee attendance at the workshop is voluntary. In an interview with the Sun, Ellis said information covered at the workshop will be posted on the Lucia Mar Human Resources Department website for easy access.

For more information about the workshop, call the Lucia Mar Unified School District offices at 474-3000.
