What are the most dog-friendly companies in America? That’s the question posed by The Bark, a dog culture magazine.

Bark’s 2013 Best Places to Work contest drew hundreds of candidates from companies that welcome dogs and support dog-friendly workplaces. The top three winners, including Los Olivos’ Midland School, were featured in The Bark’s Winter 2013 issue “as shining examples of how work and dogs can be mutually beneficial,” contest organizers said in a press release.

To celebrate their achievements, the office dogs of these winners will receive a year’s worth of healthy dog treats from Zuke’s, the contest’s presenting sponsor.

The 2013 Bark’s Best Places to Work winners were chosen by a panel of judges based on these parameters: canine-friendly workspace, dog-driven work policies, and dedication to humane causes.

Midland School is a college-preparatory boarding school with 24 staff members, 80 students, and 20 dogs. Students and faculty are allowed to bring their dogs to campus to attend classes, lounge in the library, and even herd cattle.
