Ever heard of Lompoc Wine Country? If the city of Lompoc’s new marketing campaign works, then the answer to that question will be yes. The city has partnered with the Santa Barbara Conference and Visitors Bureau and Film Commission to promote Lompoc Wine Country.
The city’s website will be linked to and from the city of Santa Barbara’s website. Lompoc Valley tasting rooms and vineyards will be heavily featured. The marketing campaign is part of the Visitors Bureau and Film Commission’s overall marketing plan to effectively communicate the merits of Santa Barbara, according to a press release from the city of Lompoc. The goal is to attract overnight visitors to the area.
The city of Lompoc will also have a cooperative ad placement with the Visitor’s Bureau and Film Commission in the Travel and Leisure “Explore the West” November insert. The ad features Lompoc Wine Country as a destination on “The American Riviera,” along with the Santa Barbara Hotel Group and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
The city’s cooperative advertising to promote Lompoc Wine Country is also a prelude to hosting the Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Festival at River Park on April 18, 2009. For more information, visit www.cityoflompoc.com.
