To help ease the fiscal burden put on schools by severe budget cuts to education, KSBY and Century 21 Hometown Realty have started “One Class at a Time,” a grant program for K-12 classrooms in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
Every two weeks, KSBY and Century 21 Hometown Realty will award a local classroom a check for $250 to be used to enhance the students’ learning experience, according to a press release from KSBY. A news crew, accompanied by a Century 21 representative, will make a surprise visit to the winning classroom to deliver the check. The class will also be featured on KSBY News that evening.
Checks will be awarded every second and fourth Thursday starting Sept. 10 and ending in June 2010.
