Downsizing may be necessary, but it isn’t easy. Get a hand in dealing with the issue during a Jan. 6 employer workshop titled “Managing a Downsized Organization.”
Topics for discussion during the free, four-hour event include an employer’s role in managing the change, dealing with the “survivors,” maintaining productivity, alternatives to downsizing, and maintaining employee commitment.
The workshop, sponsored by the Workforce Investment Act Programs, runs from 8 a.m. to noon at the Workforce Resource Center, 1410 S. Broadway, Santa Maria.
Other Workforce Resource Center employer workshops include “Customer Service: The Employer’s Role,” “How to Recruit, Hire, and Retain Valuable Employees,” “Leadership Skills for Today’s Organizations,” “Older Workers: Your Untapped Workforce Resource,” and “Winning at Interviewing for Employers.” All are free and designed with the local business community in mind.
