āThis is a great opportunity to do what we love to do as well as give back to the community,ā said Mike Teixeira, a Time for Secrets band member and current St. Joseph High School student, in a recent press release.
Concert organizer and St. Joseph alumni Gabriel Marin added, āSt. Judeās is a great organization benefiting children and we wanted to do something to help out ⦠we wanted to follow through on our awareness of them. Itās great that St. Joeās is allowing us to use their campus to hold this concert and the majority of these band members are either current students or alumni of the school.ā
St. Judeās is located in Memphis, Tenn., and was founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No family ever pays St. Judeās for anything.
Tickets for the outdoor concert are available at the door. The event is open to the public with a $4 donation, all of which will go directly to St. Jude Childrenās Hospital. The concert was originally scheduled for Jan. 23, but was rained out.
