In celebration of National Library Week, the Santa Maria Public Library is once again hosting storyteller Jim Cogan. His creativity and outside-of-the-box antics are something teens, children, and adults enjoy, according to a press release from the city of Santa Maria.
“Always engaging, full of mirth, mystery and surprises, Jim combines magical voices with creative sounds, energetic movement, and fabulous faces to provide an entertaining catalyst to reading for all ages,” the press release said.
The Night of a Thousand Stars program will be held in the Altrusa Theater on Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. The program is best suited for children who are school-aged and older.
Youth Services requires a free ticket for admittance to its special programs. Tickets are available at the Youth Services desk or may be reserved by phone to be picked up later that day. A maximum of six tickets may be reserved, however reservations may only be made once.
The Friends of the Santa Maria Public Library sponsor the program. The library’s hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Questions may be directed to Youth Services, 925-0994.
