Spaces are still available for the Santa Maria Japanese Community Center’s language program.
The infant and toddler playgroup meets Tuesdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Preschoolers ages 2 to 5 years old meet on Fridays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., and adults and children ages 6 and older meet on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Children ages 2 and younger should be accompanied by an adult.
Classes meet at the educational facilities at Christ United Methodist Church, 219 N. Mary Dr., in Santa Maria. Tuition is $80 for the first child, $50 for the second child, and $30 for the third child, and includes classes and learning materials. A military discount of $10 will be deducted from tuition for Vandenberg Air Force Base families. To participate, there’s an additional $10 annual membership fee to join your family to the Santa Maria Japanese Community Center.
