Two hundred inches of hair can go a long way to help those in need. In the case of hair donated to Locks of Love, it provides disadvantaged children with medical hair loss a chance to wear their hair down.
On May 28, 19 Lady Knights from St. Joseph High School each shed at least 10 inches of their lovely locks to the cause. And those who didnāt have the required minimum 10 inches of hair to donate raised $200 to support the organization.
In a school press release, dean of activities Jennifer Perez said it was a great opportunity for students and the greater community to get involved in something that ātugged at our heartstrings.ā
āSome of the girls participating have not cut their hair in years and they went from having waist-length hair to shoulder-length hair in a matter of minutes,ā Perez said in the release. āIt was truly touching to see their commitment.ā
