The graduating Santa Maria Saints of 1968 will be celebrating a belated 40th high school reunion—“The 41st Reunion”—July 31 through Aug. 2.
The walk down memory lane will begin on July 31 at the Santa Maria Inn, where former classmates will meet at 5 p.m. for “appetizers, drinks, and merriment,” according a link on the Santa Maria High School website. On
Aug. 1, members of the class of ’68 are encouraged to meet up in small groups to reminisce over lunch or during a game of golf. Later that evening, everyone is invited to the reunion dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Santa Maria Inn. The event will feature a Santa Maria-style barbecue and a free drawing.
The reunion will end on Aug. 2 with a picnic at Waller Park (site No. 6). Hosted by the Santa Maria Elks Club, the picnic will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer a spread of barbecued chicken, beans, bread, salad, and more. Attendees are asked to bring their own drinks.
