Ever wonder what it’d be like to help design a city park? The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department recently announced that it’s submitting a grant request to the state of California to fund extensive renovation at Oakley Park, a four-acre park located at 1300 Western Ave. If the grant is approved, city officials might incorporate the public’s ideas into the park renovation plan.

There will be a park renovation informational meeting on Feb. 11 at the Oakley Elementary School library at 5:30 p.m. The school is located at 1120 W. Harding Ave.

For more information about the grant process, contact the Recreation and Parks Department office at 925-0951, Ext. 263.
