Need a safe place to send your kids after they get out of class for the day? The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is encouraging families to sign up for its Fun, Recreation, Education, and Enrichment (F.R.E.E.) After School Program, offered to children ages 6 to 12. Itās designed to provide recreation and enrichment in a fun and organized after-school environment.

As its name implies, F.R.E.E. is a no-cost, drop-in program. Itās held at the Newlove Community Building, 1619 S. Thornburg St., from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. during regular school hours and 1 to 5:30 p.m. on minimum school days. The Community Action Commission will provide snacks.
Interested parents must complete and submit a permission slip. The forms are available at the Newlove Community Building during program hours or at the Recreation and Parks Administrative Office at 615 S. McClelland St.
