Allan Hancock College is looking for locals to join The Community Ambassador Program, the college’s new community relations outreach.
The program offers a leadership opportunity designed specifically for community influencers and local business executives. Valeria Moya, president of the Allan Hancock College Foundation board of directors, said in a press release that ambassadors would learn all about how the college works.
“Ambassadors will be given a high-level overview of college programs and operations,” she said in the release. “The curriculum is similar to the Chamber Leadership program and is ideal for any leader interested in learning more about Hancock.”
Ambassadors will meet on campus for six half-day sessions starting in August and running through July 2018. Each session will focus on a different area of the college and, according the release, “ambassadors will get an executive-level introduction to the college through workshops and activities.”
Applications are available at hancockcollege.edu/foundation. It costs $25 to apply, and applications should be mailed to College Advancement, 800 S. College Drive, Santa Maria. For more information, contact Natalie Rucobo at 925-2004.
