Health and the practices that sustain it will be the focus of Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital’s 30th annual health fair on Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott Hotel, 555 McMurray Road, in Buellton.
Admission is free and open to people of all ages. There will be more than 40 vendor booths, refreshments, and giveaways, including hospital lab discount coupons for diabetes screening, heart disease screening, and prostate screening blood tests. There will also be a limited number of discounted bone density (doctors referral required) and digital mammogram screenings available at $144 and $174, respectively. Screening appointments must be made in advance by calling 686-3967. Insurance isn’t accepted for these discounted services, and payment is due at the time of procedure.
“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month nationwide and we are proud to offer extensive information about early detection and prevention. We encourage women, men, and families to attend the health fair and discover how easy it is to take charge of your wellness,” hospital vice president Wende Cappetta said in a prepared statement.
Founded in 1964, the not-for-profit Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital provides high-quality outpatient surgical services, inpatient care, comprehensive imaging, 24/7 emergency services, and more to the community.
