Charity, responsibility, caring—the values of the Boy Scouts of America will be on display on Sept. 25 at the “Spirit of the Mission,” a fundraising event benefiting Santa Barbara County Boy Scouts at La Purisima Mission in Lompoc.
The evening will begin at 4:30 p.m. with docent-led tours of the mission, followed by wine tasting, dinner, and a silent auction. There will also be live music and dancing, twilight mission tours, and a special dessert prepared by local scouts. And in keeping with the Scout mission, 10 percent of the event’s proceeds will go to support La Purisima.
Event coordinators are currently seeking donations for the silent auction. Tickets to the event are available for pre-order.
This week’s School Scene was compiled by contributor Henry Houston. Information should be sent to the Sun via fax, e-mail, or mail.
