Students will gather in school families and follow an eighth-grade leader through nine stations. Some of those stations include hiking in the nature area behind the school, recycling batteries, reducing lunchtime waste, using solar energy, and the science of tree rings. St. Louis de Montfort wants to encourage battery recycling, and is becoming a used battery collection site.

This year, the school is also collecting electronics to recycle with VTC Enterprises and Waste Managementās Mobile Recycling Education Display Box will make an appearance.
The community is invited to celebrate an early Earth Day with the students. The day starts around 8:30 a.m. and activities will last until 2:30 p.m. The school is located at 5095 Harp Road in Orcutt.
