Learn what it takes to become a teacher at the 2009 “Becoming a Teacher” seminar at Allan Hancock College on May 6.
Attendees will find information on steps to becoming a teacher, along with credential information, preparation for the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST), and local options for earning a degree. Future educators will also have an opportunity to attend four special sessions on obtaining single- and multiple-subject credentials, becoming an education specialist, and the CSU Teacher Preparation Program (CalSTATE Teach).
The free seminar will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Student Center (building G) on Allan Hancock College’s Santa Maria campus. A check-in and networking reception will begin at 3 p.m. for workshop attendees, and the general presentation will start at 4 p.m. Advance registration is required.
