• In the April 23 article ‘Water Town,” we incorrectly reported that the Allan Hancock College women’s cross country team was nixed to help pay for water polo. The cross country was actually suspended in response to low interest, and some of the money that move freed up is being used to help pay for the water polo program. There was also a typo in the paragraph that starts “After a year of swimming, Ashmore said Britten asked her to participate …” It should say: “After a year of swimming, Ashmore and Britten asked her to participate …” Athletic Director Kim Ensing also would like to clarify that while the football team practices on the school’s football field, it doesn’t play games there.
