The state of local and national economies and the role of energy policy in growth will be discussed during the Santa Barbara County Energy Coalition’s National Energy Day and 2011 Economic Conference on Oct. 12.

Expert speakers will cover a wide range of topics—including solar, nuclear, wind, and wave power; oil; natural gas; energy efficiency; and conservation. The conference’s closing speaker, Dr. Mark Schniepp, principal of the California Economic Forecast, will present the current state and future outlook for the Northern Santa Barbara County economy.

The conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Santa Maria, beginning with a continental breakfast at 7 a.m. The program commences at 8 a.m. and runs until noon. Admission is $40 and includes breakfast, a copy of the 2011 Northern Santa Barbara County Economic Outlook booklet, and one-year subscriptions to the California Economic Forecast and SBC Energy Coalition monthly newsletters.
