
Mexican cuisine is a Latin cornucopia of various indigenous cultures. A new cooking class at Allan Hancock College will give locals the opportunity to learn how regional variations influence foods such as tamales and Veracruz red snapper. The collegeās Community Educationās Cultural Aspects of Food will meet on Oct. 6 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Santa Maria campus, room J-14. A materials fee of $20 is required and can be paid to the instructor on the first day of class.
